Chandra Sekhar College, Champua is a multi-faculty UG institute having served more than 46 years. It started functioning in 1977 first in intermediate courses and later upgraded to UG course in 1979 as the first higher educational institute to cater the needs of the rural youth of the locality in this tribal sub plan backward subdivision in the modest part of the district Keonjhar in the state of Odisha.
The college is located about 300 km to the north of the capital Bhubaneswar in the direction of the route to the district head quarter keonjhar and border to Jharkhand state. Champua, a rural, remote and an old sub-division at the juncture is adjacent to Mayurbhanj district to the east and Sundargarh district to the west. The college spreads over 25 acres of land divided into play ground, plantation and infrastructural areas.
At present the college has adequate class rooms, conference hall, laboratories, library, staff common room, hostel, canteen, drinking water facility and other provisions of infrastructure in the built-up areas and some are now under progress in campus areas.
